Comeback & Rework
Cost Tracker

Track comeback repairs, rework hours, direct costs, recovered amounts, and open follow-up so your shop can see the real cost of rework without assigning automatic blame.

Tracker Setup

Set the review date and identify this comeback / rework tracker.

Comeback and resolved dates cannot be later than this date.
Scope: Use one row for one comeback / rework event. This tool records direct rework economics and status. It does not decide fault, warranty responsibility, technician performance, or whether a customer should be charged.

Comeback & Rework Entries

Enter each event, the rework effort and costs, any amount recovered, and a resolved date when follow-up is complete.

Original Job / RO (optional) Customer / Vehicle (optional) Comeback Date Original Repair / Concern Rework Category Original Technician (optional) Rework Technician (optional) Rework Labor Hours Internal Labor Cost / Hr Replacement Parts Cost Sublet / Outside Cost Other Rework Cost Customer / Other Recovery Resolved Date (optional) Notes (optional) Remove
Up to 100 comeback / rework entries per tracker. Leave Resolved Date blank while follow-up is still open.
Cost logic: Rework Labor Cost = Rework Labor Hours × Internal Labor Cost / Hr. Gross Rework Cost = Labor + Replacement Parts + Sublet / Outside + Other Rework Cost. Net Comeback Cost = Gross Rework Cost − Customer / Other Recovery. A negative net value means recovery exceeded the direct rework cost entered here.

Tracker Notes

Record internal follow-up, parts warranty notes, customer communication, or process-review context.
